Subject: Pelham Twins - Boys Majors First Practice

Dear Team:

Attached to this message is the current draft of the team roster. Please provide me with any corrections, revisions or additions that need to be made.

Last night the managers dutifully lined up, hats in hand, at the League Office. After waiting for quite some time for a meeting of umpires to end, we finally accosted the League officials seeking field permits only to be told that the official responsible was out at another meeting!

This morning I reached our Commissioner by e-mail and we have been assigned a practice field: Friendship Field on Sunday, April 6 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. I would like to have our players there no later than 1:45 p.m. for some brief warm-ups and stretching. Presently the weather is expected to be nice on Sunday.

I will distribute uniforms at the end of practice on Sunday. PLEASE NOTE: Although we have been provided with pants and caps, we have not yet received the jerseys. I do not know if I will have them by Sunday, but if the League has them by then, I will distribute them as well. Additionally, we have not yet been provided with the team equipment bag. Thus, if your player has a bat and/or batting helmet, please have him bring it on Sunday. I have a couple, but anything will help. The League may have the equipment bags ready by Sunday, but that is not yet certain.

Given the small number of players on the team I need to establish a routine of confirming attendance at practices and games in advance rather firmly -- particularly in the case of games where I will be preparing lineups in advance. Please reply and confirm the attendance of your player(s) for the Sunday practice.
