Subject: 6:15 p.m. Game Tonight at Friendship Field vs. Cubs

Dear Team:

I will be creating the lineup for this evening's game at mid-day today. It is important that I hear from you this morning if your player will NOT make tonight's game (see below).

Yesterday afternoon the team played magnificently in its practice game against the Padres. The final score was 14-1. What a wonderful way to start -- and end -- the pre-season!

We used five pitchers. Each pitched beautifully. The opposing coach, Victor Torres, said to me after the game that he was most impressed with our team's hitting. As I indicated to our players before the game, at this age I prefer to sprinkle strong hitters throughout the lineup in "waves" of four. It seemed to work yesterday as our players hit throughout the lineup all day long. At least two of the Padres pitchers were quite strong with good speed. Yet, our players pounded the ball.

The Twins are a strong team and will do well this season. I need everyone to do their best to attend every game and always arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Tonight will be the first official game of the season. We are playing the Cubs -- a good team. Please be at Friendship Field for warm-ups no later than 6:15 p.m.

As always, this message is being posted to the team's Web site at http://PelhamTwins.blogspot.com

Best regards,

Blake
